Rafael Palmeiro v. Frank Robinson

This one is a no brainer.
If that arrogant punk Rafael Palmeiro thinks that he can run around and continue to lie about what he took and when he took it, then I say drop him down the memory hole.
Frank Robinson's argument is that since we can never know when he was juiced we should then take all the numbers and pretend he wasn't there.
I know this sounds very similar to the Stalinist answer to what to do with people who have fallen out of favor with the party, but what else is there to do.
If we leave his records in the books what lesson does that teach?
I think what Frank Robinson and Curt Schilling are getting at has nothing to do with players from the past. What Rafael Palmeiro did was get to 3000 hits while in the middle of his appeal for failing the steroid test. Take him off the list of 500 / 3000 players, and be done with it.
Now there will be people who will point to mark McGuire and Barry Bonds and say what about their numbers.
Well since Big Mc. never flunked a steroid test (easy reason, there were none) we have to leave him alone. If and when Barry decides that his knee will no longer test positive, I mean feels better, then we will probably never know the truth there either.

The History Of History

Once in a while I say things while trolling different sites that confuse even the people I agree with. These remarks are usually based on my twisted take on history. There are a lot of "smart" people who do not understand the subtleties of my historic sarcasm.

Case in point:

The Banana Lawyer and Foggy Bottom

For those of you who's grasp of history ends with who were the members of ABBA, let me explain.

John Forster Dulles, who along with his equally exciting brother Allan, was Boston Brahmin Lawyers for the Central American land owner United Fruit, the home of the Chiquita Banana Lady. These two party animals are as responsible as anyone for the horrible bureaucratic mentality at both the State Department, located at Foggy Bottom, and the CIA.
When good people, like Condi Rice, get pulled into the vortex of evil that surrounds those two groups, the only thing that you can hope for is that whey would grow a set of brass ones, or melt down so spectacularly that the organization takes the hit, not the person.
The State Department, has been such a black hole for so long that sometimes the only hope I have is a mass of infectious papercuts that causes all the paper/pencil pushers it leave en-mass and be replaced by people who view the world as it should be.
Us against Them.
Good v. Evil.
The Modern Age against the Dark Ages.
Freedom v. Subjection.
Life v. Death.

Some people may think that my world view is too simplistic, too black and white, or just straight up wrong. To them I say, BITE ME! The world is that simple, when we try to "understand the enemy" we give the enemy the rope with which to hang US.
Islamic fascists will not rest till every Jew is dead and every nation is under Sharia Law. The appeasement Monkeys that have overrun State, CIA and every other government organization that wants to negotiate with terrorists will be the first to suffer under the new world order.

Don't Like The Bitter Taste...

then drink the Kool-aid.

The bitter taste of defeatism is taking over even at places as previously stalwart as NRO and Fox News.

We are so focused on arbitrary dates for the new Iraqi Constitution, that our own history is being forgotten.

It took 143 years from the Articles of Confederation being presented to the Continental Congress until women received the right to vote thanks to the 19 Amendment to The Constitution.
143 years!!!

And people are whining about a couple of arbitrary dates being missed in the process of creating a "fair" Constitution in a nation that has known nothing but autocratic rule since the beginning of time.

Let's take a deep breath and stop the whining.
